Welcome to Kajira
Kajira is an association for Ghent students with an interest in BDSM. Throughout the academic year we organise weekly events, ranging from discussion evenings to workshops and lectures.
Who are we?
More about usThink of our student association as an open group of student friends. We were founded in 2011 to bring together people with an interest in BDSM and to talk openly about it. Because BDSM covers many different aspects and degrees, our events offer space to talk about the wide range of opinions and preferences.

What do we do?
We organise all kinds of events: discussion evenings, workshops, movie nights, lectures, café evenings, board game nights and much more. On these evenings we mostly talk openly about BDSM and just about anything else.
In short: we offer a safe environment to talk about anything, and a place where you can ask questions that might raise eyebrows in the average Flemish living room.
Everyone is welcome!
BDSM experience is definitely not a requirement for attending a Kajira event. Some of our regulars have been active in the BDSM scene for years; others are simply curious and still figuring out where their preferences lie.
We're also a very diverse group when it comes to sexuality. Gay / straight / bi / pansexual, asexual, transgender, polyamorous — truly everyone is warmly welcomed.
Hesitant about coming?
If you'd like to come by for the first time but still have doubts, we've got a 'first visit' section and a FAQ. Don't worry too much about anonymity either — we understand the concern all too well and take it very seriously ourselves. We're also happy to arrange a buddy for you!
