Your first visit
To help you overcome any hesitation about visiting for the first time.
Thinking about coming to a Kajira event but still feeling a bit hesitant, or unsure what to expect? This page is for you. We've laid it all out in a Q&A format.
What does Kajira have to offer me?
Kajira is a student association with a twofold purpose:
- on one hand, to make BDSM more socially accepted — partly by bringing students together around the topic;
- on the other, to give students a place where they can speak freely and be who they are, without constantly having to wear a mask.
What happens at the events?
Whatever happens is always clearly described in that event's description. If it says we're spending an evening chatting in a café, then that's exactly what we're doing. If the description doesn't say the event ends in an orgy, then it won't.
You don't need to do anything special to attend our events. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, just come in your everyday clothes — the same way you'd head to class or to the supermarket. Do bring your student card, though: if there's any doubt about your student status, we'll ask to see it.
Our rules
At all our events, and especially discussion evenings, we follow these rules among others:
- 1
No kink shaming.
Your kink is not my kink, but your kink is OK. We don't dismiss other people's kinks with "yuck" or "that's weird". This is a place where everyone can feel at home and be accepted for who they are.
- 2
Discretion.
All info stays within Kajira. We don't share names or personal stories from within Kajira with anyone else.
- 3
You don't have to answer.
If you don't want to answer a question, you can always just pass. You're never obliged to share experiences or answer questions you'd rather not.
I'm feeling a bit unsure...
If for whatever reason you'd like to have a personal chat with some board members first, just let us know via the contact form and we'll be happy to help. We'd also love to hear any other ideas you have for lowering the barrier — for yourself or for others.
